Q House
Situated on a bend of the Lachlan River near Forbes NSW, Q House is a series of pavilions capped by skillion roofs. The 3 pavilions (Living, Sleeping and Service) come together at a central entry gallery and are individually oriented to take in the optimum light for the various spaces and to capture the views to river and to the flood plains.
A clean and robust material palette of brick, glass and concrete is employed with broad eaves and off form concrete shade structures providing deep shading to glazed areas to manage the hot summer sun.
