Where is Source Architects based?
Our studio is at 146 Lords Place, Orange, NSW 2800. Source Architects was established in 2013 and our reach extends across the east coast of Australia.
What types of projects does Source Architects take on?
We specialise in residential architecture, from contemporary inner city homes to grand country estates and heritage restorations. We focus on designing new builds and some large-scale renovations, along with special commercial and public projects. We also have demonstrated experience in master planning, commercial and mixed use development, community and public buildings, heritage and adaptive reuse, interior design, and single and multi-residential developments.
Do you work on projects outside Orange?
Yes. We are based in Orange and work across the Central West, greater New South Wales and the east coast of Australia.
Who are the architects at Source Architects?
The studio is led by David Sutherland, Registered Architect NSW 7572, and Sally Sutherland, Registered Architect NSW 7587. Between them they bring over 35 years of experience across all building types, from private residences through to large scale masterplans, apartments and public buildings.
Do you offer interior design as well as architecture?
Yes. Interior design, styling and furniture selection are part of our service. Through cohesive landscapes and interiors we bring warmth and joy to each space.
Do you take on heritage projects?
Yes. Heritage restoration and adaptive reuse is one of our core areas of work, alongside contemporary residential architecture.
What is involved in working with an architect?
We deliver your entire project, from conception to completion. Our services span research and feasibility studies, site investigation and assessment, brief preparation, stakeholder engagement, masterplanning, architectural design, interior design, 3D visualisation and rendering, styling and furniture selection, authority approvals, building information modelling, detailed design and documentation, tendering and contract administration.

Brief development goes well beyond a list of rooms. We listen, and we get to know our clients, so we have a deep understanding of their needs and aspirations. This understanding forms the basis of a successful project.
