March House 2

Alterations and Additions

Located in Orange, the existing house was due for a renovation to accomodate a growing young family. As with a lot of houses in central Orange, it had a pour extension at the rear completed in 80’s that closed off the house to the backyard. The front section of the house was in good condition and with a fresh update of finish not much else was needed.

The new addition to the rear of the house was created to house a north facing kitchen, living and dining area. The form that was created used a typical pitched roof but it was placed acrossed the site to give large more volume to the new spaces that are similar to the spaces in the existing section of the house. The kitchen and dining areas are connected directly to a covered terrace area and the lush lawn on the north for the young family to play both inside and out.
