Sampson House

Alterations and Additions

On a compact inner city site, this extension to a 20’s Bungalow seeks to provide a suite of new north facing living spaces opening to a fine scale landscaped courtyard. Roofs rise and fall to catch light at particular times of the day to complement the use of each space.

The existing house is largely retained, but strategically altered to improve circulation, zoning and environmental performance. The new wing includes living, dining and kitchen facilities, along with a new master bedroom suite with a Japanese style bathhouse, garage, laundry and storage.
