Winterwood is a substantial new rural homestead that is being developed to service a thriving Equestrian facility in rural NSW. The house employs a series of massive rammed earth walls that anchor a number of longline clad pavilions and work to form protected courtyard spaces on what is a very exposed site. A main living pavilion is oriented to capture the key views to the North West, with a sleeping wing oriented to the east, and a pool pavilion thrusting out into the paddock.

The house is one of a number of large rural properties that Source Architects is working on currently that will be completely off grid, employing a substantial PV and battery storage system, and some 500kl of water storage
