Lidster House

Alterations and Addtions

The Lidster House project is an alterations of an existing house at Lidster, just outside Orange.

The existing house faces south to the view leaving the house cold and dark for much of the year. The proposal seeks to bring light and warmth deep into the house through various interventions. Sections of the existing roof are cut away to bring northern light into the south facing living spaces and skylights are strategically placed in hall ways and the kitchen.

A new low green roof has been introduced for a new entry covered space which employs sandstone and recycled timbers to achieve a natural rustic setting for the house.
